Aberdovey Flora & Fauna
Aberdovey and its splendid environment has so much to offer if you are interested in spending time exploring some of its natural history. Come for a walk and enjoy the sights and sounds around you.
Where to begin! The surrounding hills and woodlands, the seashore and the dunes. We are spoilt for choice. If you are interested in wild orchids you can find six species. May brings the Sword Leaved Hellebores – look down onto the railway embankment to see them, through to Autumn Ladies Tresses in September.
Bird life is great too, Wood Warblers and Pied Flycatchers,Terns fishing over the Dyfi estuary, and Manx Shearwaters out to sea.
You will be fully occupied looking down at the ground and skywards. Don’t forget to listen out for the birdsong as well.
Go out and enjoy all there is to see in this lovely area.
Good hunting!
