Within our community, different places of worship exist for those who prefer different ways to express and share their faith. Everyone is welcome to join at each church or chapel, whether local or a visitor.

St Peter’s Church in Wales

Anglican Church

We are members of the Anglican Church in Wales and our Grade 2 listed church is a prominent feature on Aberdovey’s waterfront, giving its name to Church Bay opposite.

Our regular monthly pattern of Sunday services start at 11.15am:

1st Sunday – Holy Eucharist
2nd Sunday – All Age Worship
3rd Sunday – Holy Eucharist
4th Sunday – Sung Matins
5th Sunday – Holy Eucharist

Tuesdays at 5pm we have a short, quiet service of Evening Prayer.

Our church is open most days from 10am to 4pm for viewing or private prayer.

The English Chapel

Presbyterian Church of Wales

The chapel was established at the end of the 19th Century for the increasing number of English speakers who came to Aberdovey with the development of the railway. We look to provide a warm welcome and Bible-based approach to life.

Our regular weekly meetings are:

Sunday service in the chapel at 11am.

Wednesday Midweek Fellowship
A small friendly group, often meeting in someone’s home for Bible study and fellowship.

Capel Bethel Chapel

Welsh and bi-lingual Wesleyan Methodist

Bethel has welcomed people for Christian worship since 1829, and its doors are open for all who want to find out about Jesus, in Welsh and in English.

Sunday Services / Oedfaon ar y Sul – 2pm

Prayer and Bible Study / Gweddi ac Astudiaeth Undebol – Tuesday / Dydd Mawrth – 7:30pm.

Roman Catholic Services

Available in nearby Tywyn and Machynlleth.

United Service  –  Worship on the Wharf!  (WoW!)

On Sundays in August, the churches and chapels combine to hold a united service in the Wharf Gardens – Worship on the Wharf! (WoW!) at 6pm for holidaymakers and locals alike; at other times throughout the year, Christians from the local places of worship also meet together for fellowship.
