RNLI Aberdovey Lifeboat
Aberdovey lifeboat station was established in 1837 and since then has provided a rescue response to the Dyfi River and Cardigan Bay, from a number of locations in the village over the years.
The current station on the wharf was modified during 2016 in order to accommodate the Atlantic 85 new generation of ‘B’ Class Lifeboat – the 25 volunteers from our community have responded 24/7 to many and various incidents during this time, and many lives have been saved.
The crew responded to 19 calls in 2018 and were out on exercise on a weekly basis in order to maintain their skill levels. That is a huge commitment from our volunteers, tractor drivers and fundraisers.
If you would like to visit the station then it is open every weekend from Easter to the end of October, plus other days noted on the information boards outside the building. You can see the crew in action on Sundays from 10am, their regular exercise time.
